art class submission

I have been learning a lot about art and drawing I my art class. Last week my class used sand paper and crayons to make our own t shirts!. We drew out design onto the sand paper with crayons and then we used an iron and parchment paper to transfer the design onto the t shirt. It was a lot of fun.

science submission 5

I watched a Brain Pop video on the food chain. I learned that the food chain is how animals eat to live and survive. There are these things that are called predators, and others called prey. Preditors are animas that hunt other animals. There are also producers. Producers collect energy from the sun, and usually grasshoppers will com onto plants and eat them. grasshoppers eat producer plants. Rats will then come and eat grasshoppers. then snakes will come and eat the rats. that is basically an example of the food chain. In this video there are animals that are at the top of the food chain. they are lions tigers cheetahs sharks and even Orcas. In this video I liked learning about the food chain.

     PLG : CIVICS AND GOVERNMENT

today I learned about rights and responsibilities. I learned that a citizen is a member of a group or a community. a community can be small, like a classroom. Citizens help their communities by keeping people safe and by not littering and by not doing bad stuff like a robbery. In the video I learned that a responsibility is something that you should do. a right is a freedom that is protected. There was a thing in the school that you could vote for someone to be the class president. Moby tried to flip a coin to get heads or tails but Annie said "I don't think you should flip a coin to decide who to vote for" then moby tried to pick a name out of a hat! Then Annie said he shouldn't vote at all and just wait to see who wins tomorrow. That was kind of funny.

PLG :  Global Persectives

Hi I am Cecil Mears and I am going to tell you about how Halloween started. There was a place where a group of people called the Celts lived. They did a harvest and they believed that on the night of the harvest there would be spirits that would kill the crops. So they left food out for the spirits to keep them happy. Then people started combining and changing holidays. There was a Holliday called All Hallows Eve and people started calling it Halloween for short. now kids wear all kind of costumes like zombies mummies ghosts kind of like the evil spirits the Celts believed came to destroy their crops. Now today people give things out like candy and treats. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays because its a lot of fun to dress up and get candy. People even collect money for charities on Halloween. I think that is a good thing to do.

I’m practicing multiplication by taking groups and adding them together. Skip counting is a good thing to do when you are multiplying. I am also practicing rounding numbers and working on expanded form.
